The next debut novel Afterwards by Rosamund Lupton is going to come out soon I am so exited. This is going to be her second book and I know it is going to be amazing. I just love the concept of her next book and I know I will just as enjoy it as her first debut novel. If you have not read her first book seriously you need to read it now!.  (See my review of the book Sister). Eeek! I think out of any book I have read this is the most exited I have been while waiting for a book to release. Cannot wait.

PS I Love You by Cecelia Ahern

Blurb

Childhood sweethearts, they could finish each other’s sentences and even when they fought, they laughed. No one could imagine Holly and Gerry without each other.

Until the unthinkable happens. Gerry’s death devastates Holly. But as her 30th birthday looms, Gerry comes back to her. He’s left her a bundle of notes, gently guiding Holly into her new life without him, each note is signed ‘PS I Love you’.

As the notes are gradually opened, and as the year unfolds, holly is both cheered up and challenged. The man who knows her better than anyone else sets out to teach her that life goes on. With some help from her friends, her noisy and loving family, Holly finds herself laughing, crying, singing, dancing-and being braver than ever before.

My thoughts

This book was a really good emotional book. It deals with issues that most people deal with “depression” as a result of losing a loved one. But I love the way that Gerry, even though he has passed away is still communicating with holly through the use of letters. This was not a slow read but I thought it was not a really fast read either. The letters that where written to holly where so sweet through the emotions that she was feeling I could say that I could relate to holly. This book is not a YA (Young reader) book. It’s more in the adult genre which I still loves and adored and would definitely read again in the distant future.

The whole emotions and depth that the book went to was amazing. The book is written in a third  point of view so you can get the feel of the other characters better at least that’s is what I thought. The book is not a thin book it has around 501 pages so it is a big book but the book does not feel long or dragging for ages. Overall I give the book a 4 out of 5 stars which is a really good score coming from me. I would differently recommend the book to anyone who wants an emotional read and anyone else for that matter.

Room By Emma Donoghue

Jack is five. He lives in a single, locked room with his ma.

Year published-2010
Award-Hughes & Hughes Irish Novel of the Year as well as the the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize

Oh my goodness this book is so emotional. I cried at the certain aspects of the book. The book is told in a first point of view from a little boy who is five years old. Jack is a boy who is trapped in a room with his mother by an abductor who kidnapped his Ma when she was younger. This is a very emotional read it shows the relationship between Jack and his ma. Jack truly believes that it is only them in the world and then one day after Jack had turned 6 years of age. His ma told him that there are lives beyond the room. This was an emotional for his ma to tell him because she knew that he would be devastated on hearing this. And the story takes on from there.

How could a book be so emotional, this was the question I thought to myself while I was reading out the book. But it was and when I finished reading the book which took me a day and two days (I am a slow reader) I really could feel what jack and his ma was feeling and how they must have coped. And the character of Old Nick was portrayed to be horrible, disgusting and vile when you read the book you know what I mean. I really think that we get to know the characteristics of the characters and I really believe that this book is really good read. I give the book 4 out of 5 stars. If you want a deep provoking book then this one is differently for you.

Sister By Rosamund Lupton

Published- 2nd September 2010

Awards- had been longlisted for this year's Theakston's Old Peculier Crime Novel Of the Year Award

This is an AMAZING book I don’t even know where to begin. The books is a story about the main character who is called Beatrice and she one day find out from her mum that her younger sister Tess is missing. So she boards the first flight from America to go England, where her whole family lives. So she leaves her fiancĂ© in America to look for her sister. When she arrives in England she becomes sort of like a private detective as a result of her family, friends as well as the police who have given up on the search for Tess. While she Beatrice is franticly looking and searching for her sister, she finds and meets new characters that could help her look for new leads. But not only that but she also begins to find some suspicions’ on who she believes had a hand to Tess’s disappearance or knows something about her sisters disappearance. Who she then later finds out that not everyone is who they say they are.

While I was reading the book I felt really intrigued on where the book was going. The book is cleverly written in a first point of view so you do feel that the emotions that Beatrice was feeling though out the books were what I was feeling. Because the book was realistic I could really relate to the main character and that was I made me to continue reading the book. Some parts of the book I agreed and thought what Beatrice was thinking so this aspect while reading the book made me hooked into the book. If this happened to me I would probably act the way she had because of my own relationship to my sister.

The book is the first novel written by Rosamund Lupton and I believe that this is a fantastically executed book considering that this is her first book. This book is full of suspense and thrills continue all the way through the book. Not in one part of the book did I feel that I was bored or felt that it had unnecessary information but instead felt that all the chapters went smoothly throughout the book. This book is a fast read so you get into the book faster than some other books that I have read recently. This is great book for people who love crime books and fast passed books (duh... who does not like fast books, Silly me) And the ending of the book just blew me away because I did not see that one coming it was a very (very) big twist so because of that i give the whole book a 4.5 out of 5. This is a must read and one of my favourite book so that means something to me. All i can say is give it a go because i know that this book would not disappoint you.
